Cairo: Egypt's Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny and French Minister Philippe Tabarot have formalized a technical arrangements agreement aimed at enhancing collaboration in the civil aviation sector. The agreement was signed during Egypt's involvement in the 55th Paris Air Show 2025, one of the major global events in the aviation industry.According to State Information Service Egypt, this agreement is part of Egypt's broader strategy to bolster international partnerships and leverage aviation expertise. It aims to position Egypt as a key regional aviation hub. Sameh El-Hefny highlighted the agreement's importance in strengthening the strategic partnership between Egypt and France, particularly in areas such as training, aviation safety, airport development, and sustainability.El-Hefny also acknowledged the enduring relationship between Egypt Air and Airbus, noting their collaboration since the introduction of the Airbus A300-B4 to Egypt Air's fleet, and more recently, with the acquisition of A350 aircraft. This partnership extends to maintenance and technical training, enhancing fleet efficiency.Furthermore, Egypt's Air Cairo operates a fleet of over 29 modern Airbus aircraft, demonstrating ongoing confidence in the French aerospace giant. Philippe Tabarot reiterated France's commitment to investing in Egypt's aviation infrastructure, including airport development projects, aligning with Egypt's privatization and sustainability objectives.The discussion between the ministers touched on future collaboration, with El-Hefny proposing a joint initiative to establish an aircraft spare parts manufacturing center in Egypt. This initiative, in partnership with Airbus, aims to localize production and facilitate technology transfer in the region.
