Cairo: Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty received a phone call from his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Attaf, during which they discussed rapid regional developments and the dangerous military escalation in the region. The Algerian minister conveyed greetings and appreciation of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El Sisi. Abdelatty, in turn, conveyed the greetings of the Egyptian president to Tebboune, affirming the deep and solid fraternal ties between the two countries.
According to State Information Service Egypt, on the regional level, Abdelatty reviewed Egypt's intensive efforts and contacts, including the outcomes of his recent Gulf tour, aimed at containing the situation and preventing the region from sliding into widespread chaos. He stressed the need to prioritize diplomatic solutions and immediately halt all forms of military escalation that threaten regional peace and security.
The two ministers also emphasized the need to end the war and discussed future regional arrangements to ensure security and stability. This includes mechanisms to develop a practical concept of collective Arab security as a pressing strategic necessity to address unprecedented challenges targeting the sovereignty of Arab states.
