135th Humanitarian Aid Convoy Enters Gaza Through Rafah Terminal

Rafah: The 135th humanitarian aid convoy of the 'Zad Al-Ezza from Egypt to Gaza' began entering the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, morning through the secondary gate of Rafah terminal heading toward the Karam Abu Salem crossing in preparation for aid delivery into the enclave.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the trucks are carrying thousands of tons of relief and humanitarian aid.

The supplies being transported include food baskets, foodstuffs such as vegetables, medical supplies, medicines, personal care items, petroleum products like gasoline, natural gas, and diesel, as well as shelter materials including tents, blankets, and winter clothing. The Egyptian Red Crescent has played a crucial role in coordinating and dispatching aid to Gaza since the crisis began in October 2023, maintaining its operations at all logistics centers and relying on the efforts of 65,000 volunteers.

Following the closure of crossings linking Gaza by Israeli occupation forces on March 2, 2025, aid deliveries faced significant challenges. This action came after the end of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and subsequent failure to secure a truce consolidation deal. The ceasefire was violated with heavy air strikes on March 18, 2025, leading to renewed ground incursions. Israeli authorities blocked the entry of humanitarian aid, fuel, and shelter supplies, and refused the entry of heavy equipment necessary for rubble removal and reconstruction.

Despite objections from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), aid deliveries resumed in May 2025 under a mechanism managed by Israeli authorities and a US security company. A 'temporary truce' was announced by the Israeli army on July 27, 2025, allowing for a 10-hour suspension of military operations to enable humanitarian assistance delivery.

Efforts by mediators including Egypt, Qatar, and the US, to broker a comprehensive ceasefire agreement continued, culminating in an agreement between Hamas and Israel on October 9, 2025. This agreement, part of a plan proposed by US President Donald Trump and brokered by Egypt, the US, and Qatar, marked the first phase of a ceasefire deal, with Turkish support. The second phase of the agreement commenced on February 2, 2026, facilitating the movement of Palestinians and allowing the injured to seek treatment in Egyptian hospitals after the reopening of the Palestinian side of the Rafah Crossing.
