Cairo: Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk affirmed the ministry's commitment to listening to the demands and proposals of representatives of the commercial sector and maintaining direct communication with the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, the general division of food commodities, and the chambers of commerce in the governorates, considering them key partners in developing the domestic trade system and implementing supply policies on the ground.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Farouk made the remarks during an expanded meeting with Ahmed el-Wakil, Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, as well as several heads of chambers of commerce in the governorates, and representatives and heads of its sub-divisions across the governorates.

The meeting offered an important opportunity for discussing joint issues related to the subsidized commodities and domestic trade systems, examining the challenges facing traders and outlet operators, and exploring ways to develop the system in a manner that contributes to market stability. This initiative aims to ensure the regular availability of commodities, improve the quality of services provided to citizens, and ensure market stability.

Farouk ordered the formation of a joint committee comprising representatives of the Ministry of Supply and the general division of food commodities. The committee will review and study all demands, proposals, and problems raised by the division and take the necessary measures to resolve them. The goal is to remove any obstacles facing traders and subsidized-goods outlet operators, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
