Cairo: Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed Al Tayyeb met on Tuesday with Mohamed Refaat, Chairman of the Egyptian Judges' Club, to discuss greater cooperation between the two institutions, particularly in public awareness and the promotion of social and moral values. During the meeting at Al Azhar headquarters in Cairo, Al Tayyeb praised the role of Egyptian judges in administering justice, protecting the rights of vulnerable people, upholding the rule of law, and contributing to social stability. He called for greater attention to protecting young people's cultural identity and strengthening their ability to assess the ideas and content they encounter.Refaat expressed appreciation for Al Tayyeb's efforts to promote what he described as a correct understanding of religion, counter misconceptions, and spread the values of moderation. He also thanked the Grand Imam for opening a branch of Al Azhar's Rewaq educational programme at the Egyptian Judges Club, saying that the initiative would support religious education and public awareness. Refaat praised Al Azhar's longstanding role in Egyptian society and its efforts to confront extremist ideas and hate speech, as well as its work in support of issues concerning the Arab and Islamic worlds.
