Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met members of the Supreme Police Council on Saturday and later attended a ceremony marking the 74th anniversary of Police Day at the Police Academy, with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik present, as stated by Presidency Spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during the event, Sisi praised police forces for their role in maintaining internal security. He awarded medals to the families of fallen officers and decorations to serving police personnel. Sisi reiterated Egypt's commitment to supporting the families of police and military casualties and emphasized the importance of state institutions in safeguarding stability.
In his speech, Sisi affirmed that Egypt would continue its efforts to ensure the full implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. He warned against any attempts to displace Palestinians from the enclave, cautioning that such actions would have significant regional and international repercussions.
Sisi also expressed his opposition to the formation of militias or any attempts to divide states in the region, describing these as a red line for Egypt's national security.
