President El-Sisi Discusses Education Revamp with Key Officials

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a significant meeting with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Education and Technical Education Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif to discuss pivotal advancements in the Egyptian education sector.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions centered around integrating modern technology into educational curricula, particularly in programming and artificial intelligence, with the cooperation of Japan. The meeting reviewed efforts to distribute tablets to technical education students and the transformation of technical education to meet global standards, notably with Italy's assistance. Plans were made to develop 103 technical schools by the next academic year, along with negotiations to establish 100 new technical schools with the UK.

President El-Sisi emphasized the need to align educational quality with advancements in technology and urged efforts to enhance the skills of technical education graduates to meet labor market demands. The meeting also explored initiatives to imbue students with financial digitalization skills, supported by a protocol between the Ministry and the Financial Regulatory Authority. This aims to foster financial literacy, practical money management skills, and safeguard students from illegal financial practices.

Further discussions included strategies to improve students' reading and writing skills, with a focus on mastering the Arabic language. Preparations for the 2025/2026 General Secondary Education Certificate exams were reviewed, emphasizing strict adherence to examination integrity and fair opportunities for all students. Enhancing human resource efficiency was also addressed, with proposals to train school staff in collaboration with a Japanese university and explore educational partnerships with other countries.
