Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli held a meeting at the government's headquarters in the New Capital to review the latest developments in plans to revitalize the sugar companies affiliated with the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, as well as the status of upgrading and modernizing production lines.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the prime minister's remarks were in support of the State efforts to develop the sugar industry and strengthen the food security system, which aims to ensure the sustainability of strategic commodities and their regular availability to citizens. Official Spokesperson for the Cabinet, Mohamed el-Homsani, stated that the meeting reviewed the implementation rates of the plans to develop the sugar companies.
It was highlighted that the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade achieved self-sufficiency in sugar during the past year and built a safe strategic stockpile, thereby enhancing the state's ability to confront any fluctuations or emergency challenges in global markets.
The spokesperson also noted that the sugar factories affiliated with the Ministry of Supply are operating at full production capacity with regular performance rates and high efficiency, alongside the ongoing programs to modernize production lines and raise operational efficiency. Efforts are directed towards developing the quality control system across all stages of production to ensure the production of sugar that meets the highest standard specifications.
