Cairo: Egypt on Sunday, July 26, 2026, condemned Israeli settler attacks against Palestinians and villages in the occupied West Bank, calling on the international community to take decisive action to halt the violence and protect the Palestinian people.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry released a statement expressing deep concern over the attacks, which involved violence, intimidation, the burning of homes, property, religious sites, and assaults on civilians. The statement suggested that these incidents reflected systematic policies that escalate tensions and undermine prospects for peace and stability.

Egypt conveyed its condemnation and rejection of what it termed as "unacceptable violence" perpetrated by Israeli settlers against Palestinians. The statement highlighted that these attacks were a flagrant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the Fourth Geneva Convention. Furthermore, it noted that the actions were a clear breach of relevant international resolutions, including UN Security Council Resolution 2334, which affirms the illegality of Israeli settlements and demands an immediate cessation of settlement activity.

The Egyptian government urged the international community and influential parties to meet their legal and moral responsibilities by taking decisive measures to stop the settler attacks and ensure the protection of the Palestinian people.

Additionally, Egypt emphasized the importance of leveraging US President Donald Trump's stated opposition to the annexation of Palestinian territory and the displacement of the Palestinian people. The statement called for ongoing efforts to implement the US president's peace plan, with the aim of de-escalating tensions, improving the humanitarian situation, and creating conditions conducive to resuming the political process for a just and comprehensive peace.
