Luxor: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, accompanied by officials, visited the Olympic swimming pool at the City Club branch in Luxor.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Luxor Governor Abdel Muttaleb Emara emphasized the importance of developing sports skills, discovering new talents, and building more sports clubs under international standards. This development aims to help youth participate in local and international competitions.
The governor explained that the Olympic pool serves all residents of Luxor and was completed in 2016. However, it remained unused for nine years before reopening last May.
The pool, located over an area of 5,700 square meters in Al-Awamia district, includes a main swimming pool with 10 lanes, each 50 meters in length and 25 meters in width, with depths ranging from 1.6 to 8 meters. Additional facilities include a children's pool, physical therapy units, player injury treatment, cafeterias, meeting halls, a multi-purpose hall, a fitness center, and a car park.
Madbouli toured the pool and sports halls and watched swimming and gymnastics teams, praising the athletes' skills and wishing them success in upcoming local and international championships.
