Tashkent: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abdelaziz Konsowa toured the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, where he was welcomed by Uzbek officials, the center's management, and representatives of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO). The visit was part of his itinerary for participating in the First International Islamic Forum on Islamic Civilization. According to State Information Service Egypt, during the tour, Konsowa explored the center's halls and exhibits, which highlight the richness of Islamic civilization and its principles of moderation, tolerance, and enlightenment. The center also underscores the scientific, cultural, and intellectual contributions of the Islamic world throughout history. Konsowa commended the center's exceptional organization and comprehensive civilizational vision, which integrates culture, architecture, religion, and aesthetics. Konsowa described the institution as a knowledge platform that connects heritage with the future, transforming the Islamic civilizational legacy into a source of inspiration, research, education, and innovation. He emphasized Egypt's commitment to fostering cooperation with Uzbekistan in higher education and scientific research, given the two countries' rich civilizational and cultural heritage and their shared dedication to advancing education and supporting scientific research. Uzbekistan's Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Kongratbay Sharipov reiterated his country's determination to enhance collaboration with Egypt in higher education, scientific research, and innovation. He highlighted the significance of strengthening partnerships between universities and research institutions in both countries to support sustainable development efforts. Following the tour, Konsowa engaged in discussions with his Uzbek counterpart about prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation in higher education, scientific research, and innovation. The ministers explored various proposed areas of collaboration, including expanding student and faculty exchange programs between Egyptian and Uzbek universities and strengthening academic and research partnerships. They also deliberated on opportunities for cooperation in sectors such as medicine, science, technology, energy, water resources, and green hydrogen.
