Cairo: The Ministry of Health and Population announced that 67.035 million visits have been recorded under the Presidential Women's Health Support Initiative since its launch in July 2019.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the visits included 23.2 million first-time screenings, 30.3 million follow-up visits, and 13.4 million emergency consultations as part of the nationwide program. Spokesman for the ministry, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, highlighted the importance of early detection of breast cancer, which reduces the burden on patients and the state, and noted that treatment is provided free of charge in line with the latest international protocols.
He added that 890,000 women underwent advanced examinations through 3,663 health units and 102 hospitals nationwide, with inquiries available via the hotline 15335. The initiative targets women aged 18 and above, offering screening for non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and obesity, in addition to reproductive health and family planning awareness. Breast cancer treatment services are provided free of charge at 14 ministry-affiliated centers and 14 university hospitals.
The ministry reiterated its call for women to benefit from the free services available across the country to ensure regular health check-ups and early detection.
