Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty stated on Thursday that Egypt's diplomatic actions are founded on firm principles that prioritize political and diplomatic solutions. These actions aim to reduce escalation and tension while addressing the root causes of crises to achieve security and stability.According to State Information Service Egypt, during an interactive meeting with students from the British University in Egypt (BUE), moderated by Professor Ali el-Din Helal, the minister emphasized Egypt's policy of strategic balance in its foreign relations. This policy reflects Egypt's commitment to regional security and stability, strengthening relationships with various partners based on mutual respect and shared interests.The meeting was attended by notable figures, including Prof. Mohamed Lotfy, BUE President and member of the Senate Committee on Foreign, Arab, and African Affairs, as well as the British ambassador in Cairo, Mark Bryson-Rich ardson. The event demonstrated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' dedication to engaging with university students in Egypt, raising their awareness of foreign policy issues, and highlighting Egypt's regional and international role.The discussion also covered recent regional developments amid current military escalations in the region. Minister Abdelatty commenced the session by applauding the BUE for its role in preparing qualified cadres capable of effectively contributing to society. He praised the university's support for higher education, scientific research, and its promotion of cultural and intellectual dialogue, which prepares generations to keep pace with regional and international developments.A broad interactive dialogue ensued between the minister and the students, during which he addressed their questions on regional and international issues. He presented Egypt's perspective on various developments, emphasizing the importance of youth in raising awareness of national and regional issues and cont ributing to the country's future.At the seminar's conclusion, Abdelatty witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the BUE. This MoU includes training and capacity building for African cadres, reflecting Egypt's commitment to supporting national capabilities in sister African countries, promoting South-South cooperation, and reinforcing Egypt's leading role in development across Africa.The MoU also aims to enhance cooperation in human rights training, consistent with the National Human Rights Strategy, fostering the exchange of expertise and knowledge. It supports national and regional personnel working on these issues, and includes collaboration in scholarships and training programs to support capacity building and knowledge exchange in academic and research fields.Additionally, the MoU provides for the establishment and operation of a mobile attestation office at the BUE in Egypt, offering attestation services to the university community an d the public. This initiative facilitates consular services and ensures citizens' access to them.
