Cairo: The Food Export Council said that the top 15 destinations for Egyptian food industry exports accounted for 59 percent of the sector's total exports in 2025, with a combined value of $4 billion out of total exports worth $6.8 billion.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Saudi Arabia ranked first among the largest importers of Egyptian food exports, with imports valued at $563 million, accounting for 8 percent of total sector exports. It was followed by the United States with $438 million, representing 6 percent, and Sudan with $344 million, and accounting for 5 percent.
Libya came fourth with imports worth $299 million, representing 4.4 percent of the total, followed by Jordan at $287 million (4.2 percent) and Algeria with $244 million (3.6 percent).
The council added that the United Arab Emirates imported $237 million worth of Egyptian food products (3.5 percent), followed closely by Iraq with $236 million (3.5 percent), while the Netherlands recorded imports valued at $232 million, representing 3.4 percent of total exports.
Exports to Palestine amounted to $205 million (3 percent), while shipments to Lebanon reached $201 million with the same share. Exports to Morocco totaled $192 million and to Italy $191 million, each accounting for 2.8 percent.
Meanwhile, Germany imported $181 million worth of Egyptian food products (2.7 percent), while exports to Yemen reached $178 million, representing 2.6 percent of Egypt's total food industry exports in 2025.
