Ljubljana: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs Dr. Badr Abdelatty, participated in an extensive dialogue session in the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, at the invitation of Ms. Tanja Vaj³n, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia. This high-level meeting also saw the involvement of prominent officials from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, and Qatar.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, reported that Minister Abdelatty expressed appreciation for Slovenia's supportive stance towards Palestinian rights, including its recognition of the State of Palestine. Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the necessity of a comprehensive and just settlement based on international law and the two-state solution. He highlighted the importance of Palestinian territorial unity and rejected any division of the Gaza Strip from other Palestinian territories.
The spokesperson further noted that Minister Abdelatty stressed the significance of advancing the second phase of the US President's plan for peace in Gaza. He commended President Donald Trump for his efforts to end the conflict and supported the comprehensive plan and UN Security Council Resolution 2803 for transitional governance arrangements in Gaza.
Minister Abdelatty also underscored Egypt's backing for the National Committee for the Administration of the Gaza Strip, led by Dr. Ali Shaath, emphasizing its role in managing the daily needs of Gaza's residents. He highlighted the necessity of continuous humanitarian aid and the establishment of an international stabilization force to ensure ceasefire compliance.
Additionally, the Foreign Minister emphasized the need to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza alongside core Palestinian issues to achieve lasting peace. He affirmed Egypt's commitment to engaging with regional and international partners for a just resolution of the Palestinian conflict.
Finally, the spokesperson mentioned that Minister Abdelatty addressed broader regional tensions, particularly concerning Iran. He emphasized the importance of de-escalation and pursuing a peaceful settlement between the United States and Iran to prevent conflict and promote regional stability.
