Egypt: EgyptAir Holding Chairman Ahmed Adel conducted a series of high-level meetings with senior executives from prominent global aircraft and engine manufacturers, as well as key figures from top aircraft leasing companies. These discussions aimed to enhance EgyptAir's operational capabilities and explore future collaborations.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Adel met with Ga«l M©heust, President of CFM International, and St©phane Cueille, CEO of Safran Aircraft Engines. CFM International is responsible for supplying engines for EgyptAir's fleet, which includes the CFM56-7B engines on the B737-800, the LEAP-1A engines on the A320/A321neo, and the LEAP-1B engines planned for the B737-MAX aircraft set to arrive in 2026. The meetings focused on all aspects of engine operations and ongoing enhancements to the LEAP-1A/1B models aimed at improving performance. Discussions also included potential cooperation between CFM and EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering's engine shop to expand capabilities for LEAP-1A/1B engine repairs.
Adel also held discussions with a range of industry leaders, including Wouter Van Wersch, Executive Vice President of Airbus; Gabriel Semelas, President of Airbus for the Middle East and Africa; Paul Boyle, Senior Vice President for Marketing and Head of Europe and Africa at Avilease; Ram³n Stortini, Managing Director for Africa and the Middle East at Avolon; Brad McMullen, Senior Vice President of Sales at Boeing; Anbessie Yitbarek, Vice President of Sales at Boeing; Cynthia Muklevicz, Vice President, Customer and Business Development at Collins Aerospace; and Mahmoud al Hameli, CEO of Abu Dhabi Aviation Group (ADA).
During these meetings, Adel acknowledged the strong interest shown by global leasing companies in strengthening their cooperation with EgyptAir. This interest underscores growing confidence in the airline's expansion and modernization strategies, as well as its commitment to aligning operations with international aviation standards.
