Alexandria: The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is set to host a three-day national conference on Egyptian national identity starting Monday under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, focusing on strengthening national awareness amid challenges posed by social media, Artificial intelligence, misinformation, and extremist rhetoric.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the conference, titled 'National Identity: Deep Roots and a Renewed Vision,' will bring together about 450 youth representing Egypt's 27 governorates, alongside ministers, academics, writers, researchers, and artists.
Discussions will address Egypt's historic, cultural, and social identity and ways to preserve its core values while adapting to contemporary developments.
A key outcome will be the 'Alexandria National Identity Document,' envisioned as a strategic framework for sustained institutional efforts to promote national awareness and engage younger generations.
