Cairo: Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty announced that the nation has embarked on intensive diplomatic initiatives aimed at preventing further escalation of the ongoing crisis in the Middle East. These efforts have involved sustained communication with all relevant parties, as detailed by Abdelatty during a press conference held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, alongside Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty highlighted that Egypt's diplomatic actions have been coordinated with Oman and Qatar. However, despite these comprehensive efforts, they have yet to achieve the intended outcomes. Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's previous warnings about the potential severe regional and international repercussions if the crisis were to escalate, noting that signs of such consequences are beginning to manifest as tensions increase.
The minister expressed profound concern over the possibility of the conflict spreading to other countries. This concern comes in light of what he described as unjustified attacks on several Arab states-including Gulf states, Jordan, and Iraq-as well as on allied nations such as Turkey and Azerbaijan. Abdelatty stressed that these developments could significantly jeopardize regional security and stability.
