Egypt, Bahrain Explore Cooperation in Social Development

Cairo: Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy and Bahrain's Minister of Social Development Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the two ministries under a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on social affairs.

According to State Information Service Egypt, during a videoconference meeting, Morsy underscored the depth of relations between Egypt and Bahrain, praising ongoing coordination and cooperation with her Bahraini counterpart both bilaterally and within the framework of the League of Arab States. She noted that the coming period will witness greater cooperation through the implementation of the MoU signed between the two ministries.

The ministers exchanged greetings on the occasion of the Islamic New Year before reviewing areas of cooperation covered by the agreement, including social welfare, services for persons with disabilities, productive families, childhood, elderly care, social safety nets, financial inclusion for vulnerable groups, civil society organizations, and volunteer work.

For his part, Al Alawi praised the close and continuous cooperation with Egypt's Ministry of Social Solidarity, expressing hope that the memorandum would facilitate the exchange of expertise and best practices in areas of mutual interest.

The meeting concluded with both ministers agreeing to accelerate cooperation under the MoU and hold regular meetings between specialists from both ministries to maximize knowledge-sharing and strengthen social development efforts in the two countries.
