Egypt’s Annual Inflation Rate Declines to 12% in October

Cairo:Planning and Economic Development Minister Ahmed Rostom announced that Egypt's annual inflation rate fell to approximately 12% in October, a decrease from 12.8% in September 2026, signaling a relative easing of inflationary pressures and an improvement in price stability.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Rostom shared these figures in a report during Thursday's Cabinet meeting, which was chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.

The report also highlighted that the monthly inflation rate decreased to around 0.6% in October, down from 1.5% in September. This pattern continues the gradual easing of price pressures, following a peak monthly inflation rate of 3.3% in March 2026, marking a 2.7-percentage point decline through October and indicating a slower pace of overall price increases.
