Cairo: Minister of Labor Mohamed Gibran and Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic engaged in discussions on Friday, May 30, 2025, to activate cooperation mechanisms aimed at facilitating labor mobility and opening new markets for Egyptian workers in Serbia. The meeting underscored the strategic partnership between the two nations, which enjoys support from the political leaders of both countries.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministers deliberated on implementing a digital connection plan designed to facilitate labor mobility, ensure workforce sustainability, and protect workers' rights. Gibran emphasized Egypt's readiness to supply the Serbian labor market with skilled workers and extended congratulations to Serbia for securing the bid to host Expo 2027.
In addition to labor mobility, the ministers explored various issues to promote joint cooperation. The discussions align with previous agreements witnessed by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic in July 2024. These agreements, aimed at enhancing cooperation, cover fields such as trade, investment, ICT, antiquities and museums, customs, and employment.
