Cairo: The 14th round of political consultations between Egypt and India took place on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, involving assistant foreign ministers from both nations. The Egyptian delegation was led by Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Amr Hamza, while the Indian side was represented by Indian Assistant Foreign Minister Neena Malhotra.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the consultations focused on strengthening bilateral relations in political, economic, cultural, and technical domains, within the strategic partnership framework between Egypt and India. Recent years have seen increased momentum in Egyptian-Indian relations, highlighted by intensified high-level visits and ongoing coordination between the two countries.
Both parties expressed a mutual commitment to advancing bilateral ties, particularly through preparations for the upcoming eighth session of the Egyptian-Indian Joint Committee. They emphasized the importance of enhancing interaction between business communities and exploring industrial and investment cooperation opportunities, including in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
Furthermore, they noted that these efforts are expected to boost trade volumes in the coming years and facilitate trade and joint investment. The discussions also underscored the significance of continued coordination and consultations on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
