Cairo: The Egyptian Air Force and China's National Aero-Technology Import and Export Corporation (CATIC) company recently held a commemorative event at the Citadel of Salah El-Din. The ceremony celebrated the milestone of 45 years of collaboration in military aviation between the two nations, marked by the induction of fighter jets produced by CATIC into Egypt's Air Force fleet.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the event featured a guided tour of the military museum located at the Citadel, providing attendees with insights into Egypt's rich military history. During the ceremony, Air Force Commander Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Fouad Abdel-Gawad delivered a message from Egypt's top military leadership. He emphasized the significance of the long-standing partnership and expressed optimism for its future expansion. Lt. Gen. Abdel-Gawad highlighted the importance of enhancing combat readiness and staying abreast of technological advancements in the field of aviation.
The ceremony also saw the participation of CATIC's CEO and the Chinese ambassador to Egypt. Both officials underscored the critical role of military cooperation in achieving shared objectives, particularly in the development of advanced military capabilities. Their presence at the event reiterated the mutual commitment of both nations to furthering their partnership in military aviation.
