Rome: As part of efforts by the Egyptian Commercial Office in Rome to strengthen Egyptian-Italian cooperation in employment, technical education, and vocational training - and to foster partnerships between training centers affiliated with Egypt's Ministry of Labor and their Italian counterparts - the office, led by Minister Plenipotentiary for Trade Mohamed El-Sayed and Third Secretary for Trade Mohamed Wahba, organized the visit program of Labor Minister Mohamed Gabran to Italy during his stay in Rome on 17 December.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Commercial Office in Rome, in coordination with the Egyptian Embassy in Rome and the Labor Office in Milan, arranged a series of high-level bilateral meetings for the Minister. The meetings included a session with Orienta, one of the largest recruitment and human resources management agencies in Italy, during which the two sides discussed mechanisms for cooperation in recruiting trained Egyptian workers and designing training programs related to the needs of the Italian labor market.
The Minister also met with representatives of Apulia Digital Academy, a higher technical institute specializing in digital technologies and information technology, to discuss opportunities for cooperation in training qualified technical personnel for modern technological sectors.
The meetings also included Meccatronico Lazio Academy, which specializes in mechatronics and industrial automation, during which the two sides discussed the possibility of launching joint training programmes focused on the advanced industrial skills needed in the Italian market.
During a meeting with De Lorenzo S.p.A., a company specializing in equipping and developing laboratories and technical education and training centers, the two sides reviewed opportunities for cooperation in upgrading the infrastructure of training centers affiliated with the Ministry of Labor, as well as modernizing laboratories and curricula to meet international standards.
The meetings also included a meeting with ITS Udine Academy and its associated companies, and concluded with an important discussion with the National Confederation of Crafts and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (CNA), chaired by Dario Costantini. The two sides explored a European pilot project aimed at qualifying and employing Egyptian workers in crafts and SMEs, linking vocational training directly to job opportunities in the Italian market, with particular emphasis on linguistic, cultural, and professional preparation prior to labor market entry.
The Egyptian Commercial Office reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to supporting Egyptian economic interests, enhancing institutional cooperation with the Italian side, and creating the necessary groundwork for the success of joint initiatives in the areas of training, employment, and knowledge transfer.
In this context, Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS) and Minister Plenipotentiary for Commercial Affairs Abdel Aziz El-Sherif stated that the visit comes within the framework of the state's integrated vision to link Egypt's training and qualification system with efforts to attract foreign investment and meet the demands of international labor markets, thereby ensuring real and sustainable employment opportunities for trained Egyptian workers.
