Egypt and Qatar Advocate for Full Implementation of Lebanon Framework Agreement

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani welcomed the US-brokered framework agreement on Lebanon, stressing the importance of its full implementation to strengthen the country's security, stability, and sovereignty.

According to State Information Service Egypt, during a phone call, the two ministers underscored the need to build on the framework agreement to ensure the implementation of all its provisions, as stated in a statement. They emphasized the importance of a full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon and an end to Israeli attacks.

The call came as part of ongoing consultations and coordination between the two countries on bilateral relations and regional developments. The ministers also exchanged views on the latest developments in negotiations between the United States and Iran, stressing the importance of building on the current negotiating process following the conclusion of a memorandum of understanding.

They called for continued implementation of the agreed measures to help reduce regional tensions, support regional security and stability, and ensure freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law.
