Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty expressed his appreciation for the close cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the House of Representatives.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during his meeting on Sunday, June 28, 2026, with Speaker of the House of Representatives Counselor Hisham Badawi, the Foreign Minister praised the outcomes of this cooperation during the current legislative term. He highlighted its role in supporting national issues and strengthening integration between the executive and legislative branches.
He also expressed pride in the House's legislative and oversight achievements, which have contributed to advancing the interests of the Egyptian state and fulfilling its national objectives. He wished the House continued success in serving the nation and its citizens.
Abdelatty affirmed the ministry's commitment to maintaining institutional communication with the House of Representatives through participation in parliamentary committee meetings. This will involve reviewing developments in Egypt's foreign policy and briefing lawmakers on the ministry's efforts regarding various regional and international issues, as well as its consular services for Egyptians abroad.
He stressed the importance of continued coordination with the relevant parliamentary committees in support of Egypt's foreign policy priorities. This includes enhancing the state's efforts to attract foreign investment, promote economic development, and safeguard the interests of Egyptians living abroad.
The Foreign Minister also underscored the importance of strengthening parliamentary diplomacy in the coming period. This will involve increasing reciprocal parliamentary visits and expanding the establishment of parliamentary friendship groups with various countries, thereby supporting the objectives of Egypt's foreign policy and enhancing its presence on the international stage.
