Cairo: Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania Mashat affirmed that the "Seville Document" is an important step towards rebuilding trust in multilateral cooperation systems. The minister stated that the document aims to develop comprehensive solutions to debt crises and the rising cost of developmental financing.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Mashat made her remarks during a meeting with a group of development partners to discuss the mechanisms for implementing the outcomes of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), which was hosted in Seville, Spain, from June 30 to July 3, 2025.
The "Seville Document" outlines commitments related to addressing the global financing gap for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and reforming the international financial architecture. It was adopted by UN member states and is recommended for endorsement by the UN General Assembly.
The document aims to mobilize greater investment, tackle debt crises, and make the financial system more inclusive and effective for developing countries.
