Preparatory Session of Egypt-Finland Business Forum Begins Amidst High Hopes

Cairo: The preparatory session for the Egypt-Finland Business Forum commenced on Tuesday morning, setting the stage for discussions aimed at enhancing joint economic cooperation between Egypt and Finland. The session is being held in anticipation of Finnish President Alexander Stubb's visit.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Mohamed el Gossaki, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), emphasized the commitment of both nations to bolster economic ties. He highlighted the presence of Finnish investments in various sectors, such as technology and telecommunications, in Egypt. Gossaki underscored Egypt's recent progress in infrastructure development, which has attracted investments and fostered a favorable environment for investors. He assured that GAFI is dedicated to streamlining processes for investors entering the Egyptian market, providing support throughout their projects' lifecycles.

Jarno Syrj¤l¤, Under Secretary of State for International Trade at Finland's Ministry for Foreign Affairs, acknowledged Egypt's strategic importance as a gateway for Finnish companies to Europe and Africa. He appreciated the economic engagement between the two countries and pointed out the resilience and strength of trade relations, noting the increase in Egyptian exports to Finland as a sign of a dynamic and balanced trade relationship. Syrj¤l¤ also observed that the Egyptian economy's resilience enhances future partnership prospects, with several Finnish companies already operating successfully with local partners in Egypt.

He further noted Egypt's appealing investment climate and stable market, which presents long-term growth opportunities and partnerships. Syrj¤l¤ stressed the importance of sustainable cooperation rather than short-term solutions.
