Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Saturday 28/3/2026, said that “Carry On” project represents a transformative shift in the development of consumer complexes and retail outlets under the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade.
According to State Information Service Egypt, this initiative was launched in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to stabilize markets and provide high-quality food commodities at affordable prices nationwide. The premier’s remarks came during his inspection of a newly modernized “Carry On” branch in the Heliopolis district, Cairo governorate.
During the visit, Madbouli emphasized the importance of expanding these modern retail models, describing “Carry On” as a primary executive arm for upgrading internal trade systems through advanced operating methods and enhanced citizen services.
For his part, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk stated that the Ministry aims to unify the “Carry On” brand across all its affiliated outlets. This rebranding strategy will eventually encompass state consumer complexes and traditional ration grocers to create a cohesive national retail identity. The Supply Ministry is coordinating with all relevant authorities to maintain safe strategic reserves of essential goods, Farouk said, adding that “Carry On” outlets and other supply branches would continue to pump commodities into the market to meet the needs of citizens nationwide.
During the tour, CEO and Managing Director of the Holding Company for Food Industries (HCFI) Alaa Nagi, said that the project offers a modern, integrated shopping experience. The model focuses on high-quality displays, a wide variety of goods, and streamlined service for the consumer. Nagi highlighted the brand’s rapid expansion, noting the opening of the Girls’ College branch in Cairo on September 29, 2025, and the Media Production City branch on December 16, 2025. This follows the specialized launches of the Sayyida Zeinab meat branch and the El-Sawah fish branch in late 2024, Nagi added.
