Military Production Minister Explores Enhanced Cooperation with MSMEDA

Al-salam city: Minister of State for Military Production, Salah Suleiman Gomblat, met with Basel Rahmi, CEO of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), along with his delegation, to discuss strengthening joint cooperation across multiple manufacturing sectors.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting took place at the Ministry's headquarters within the Training Sector in Al-Salam City. Minister Gomblat emphasized the meeting's alignment with the state's commitment to creating job opportunities and boosting the productivity of the Egyptian workforce, which contributes to strengthening the national economy and reducing the import bill.

Gomblat reviewed the Ministry's technological and manufacturing capabilities, highlighting the industrial sectors open for cooperation. He discussed supporting youth-led projects through coordination with MSMEDA, which includes establishing small and medium-sized industries, providing suitable facilities, setting up factories, and supplying production lines and necessary equipment. He also mentioned offering technical consultations and conducting feasibility studies.

The Minister outlined various forms of support for project owners, such as vocational, administrative, and technical training, delivered through the Ministry's Training Sector or mobile training units. These units have previously succeeded in collaboration with civil society organizations, and he pointed to the mobile units project, manufactured by Factory 200, as a promising initiative.

Basel Rahmi affirmed MSMEDA's commitment to activating all cooperation avenues with the Ministry of Military Production. He highlighted the potential for delivering specialized training programs for industrial project owners, helping them develop and scale their businesses. Rahmi emphasized utilizing the Ministry's capabilities to support entrepreneurs in transforming ideas into viable enterprises, including providing dedicated industrial production lines that ensure product quality and meet local market needs.

Rahmi also highlighted expanding support for successful MSME models across productive sectors through cooperation with the Ministry's factories. This includes supplying integrated production lines and training entrepreneurs in their use, serving as a national alternative to importing equipment from abroad.

At the visit's end, Rahmi toured the Ministry's Training Sector facilities and the Scientific and Technological Excellence Center, praising the advanced infrastructure and modern training programs as an ideal model for supporting youth projects and entrepreneurship.
