Cairo: Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, convened a meeting with Engineer Sherif El-Shorbagy, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, to assess the progress of several ministry work files and ongoing projects across various sectors. The meeting, attended by Dr. Abdel Khaleq Ibrahim, Assistant Minister for Technical Affairs, focused on the ministry's initiatives under the "A Decent Life" program, which aims to enhance rural Egypt through the development of essential infrastructure like water and sewage systems.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Engineer Sherif El-Shorbagy elaborated on the ministry's efforts, disclosing that out of 1,811 planned projects, 1,379 have been successfully completed. The meeting also addressed the master plan for the Pyramids area, including discussions with planning and tourism experts to enhance this significant zone.

The minister highlighted the state's commitment to providing adequate housing, emphasizing the directive from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to deliver 400,000 housing units. Booking for the first phase, featuring 35,088 units, has commenced, with a broader target of over 261,000 units to be rolled out by mid-2026.

Further, the minister announced the imminent offering of 115,000 units under the "Housing for All Egyptians" initiative, targeting low and middle-income groups. He also reviewed the status of 65 projects being marketed, featuring around 75,500 units, and the "Home for Egyptians Abroad" initiative, which has generated sales of approximately 10 billion dollars.
