Cairo: Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) Mokhtar Abdel Latif asserted on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, that the organization is committed to supporting innovators and creators and building effective partnerships with universities and scientific research centers.
According to State Information Service Egypt, this commitment is rooted in AOI's belief in linking scientific research with industry needs and the labor market, transforming research ideas and innovations into practical applications that serve society. Abdel Latif's remarks were made during a ceremony honoring the ASUWind team from the faculty of engineering at Ain Shams University, which secured third place worldwide in the International Small Wind Turbine Contest (ISTWC) held in the Netherlands from July 7-10.
The competition convened leading university teams from across the globe, highlighting AOI's dedication to supporting talented innovators in scientific and industrial fields. This support aims to foster the conversion of research outputs into practical models beneficial to various industrial sectors. Abdel Latif commended Ain Shams University's research teams for their outstanding performance and success in international arenas.
He reiterated AOI's commitment to providing technical support to university researchers in scientific competitions, assisting in implementing research projects with industrial potential, and offering training opportunities through the AOI Academy and its specialized training centers.
Ain Shams University President Mohamed Diaa Zein el Abedeen highlighted AOI's pivotal role in the team's success, providing technical and manufacturing assistance. Specifically, AOI's Aircraft Factory manufactured wind turbine blade molds and produced sets of blades meeting the highest standards of quality and precision, significantly enhancing the team's competitiveness.
He noted that this collaboration symbolizes a successful national partnership between a university focused on science and a national institution dedicated to industry. He expressed confidence in the continued expansion of this cooperation, which promises to explore new avenues in advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, and technological innovation.
