Cairo: Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abdelaziz Qonsowa have taken part in the START 2026 Summit held at the Grand Egyptian Museum, bringing together university leaders, officials, and private sector partners.According to State Information Service Egypt, Morsy emphasized the state's commitment to youth empowerment through expanded social protection and university-based support units. She noted that more than 70,000 students are receiving financial assistance exceeding EGP 150 million, with an additional 250,000 students benefiting from social solidarity university services this year. Morsy also announced plans to expand university 'Solidarity Units' and introduced the 'START' platform for year-round training, supported by private sector partnerships.Qonsowa highlighted that youth empowerment is in line with Egypt's national vision for human development. He emphasized the importance of bridging education and labor market needs through skill s development, innovation, and entrepreneurship programs. He also mentioned ongoing cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity to enhance university environments as centers for capacity building and employability.The summit saw the signing of four cooperation protocols with private sector and academic partners. These agreements aim to launch training programs, develop digital assessment tools, and expand university solidarity units. Additionally, several outstanding student volunteers and top-performing solidarity units were honored during the event.
