Al-alamain: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, in Al-Alamain City. The two Ministers affirmed the depth of the close bilateral relations and the fraternal and historical ties binding the two brotherly countries, and the rapid development these relations are witnessing under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to further deepen the strong bonds between the two nations, in light of the solid and enduring ties uniting their peoples.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the two Ministers praised the significant momentum that Egyptian-Saudi relations enjoy, which reflects the qualitative leap witnessed by the two countries in achieving comprehensive development. This has been embodied in the establishment of the Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council, which aims to elevate the level of cooperation between the two countries to levels befitting the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples, and to emphasize joint efforts to support economic, investment, and trade relations between the two nations.
In this context, Minister Abdelatty expressed complete rejection and condemnation of any desperate attempts by certain irresponsible online platforms to undermine the historical Egyptian-Saudi relations, offend either of the two brotherly countries, or cast doubt on the strength of their ties, stressing the firmness of these fraternal relations.
On the other hand, the two Ministers discussed the latest developments in the region, foremost among them the developments of the Palestinian cause. Minister Abdelatty addressed the ongoing efforts to resume the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, outlining in this context the intensive communications Egypt is conducting with all parties to halt hostilities and ensure the full delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. He also highlighted Egypt’s intention to host a conference for the reconstruction of the Strip.
In a related context, the two Ministers discussed developments in Libya. Minister Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s efforts to support the Libyan-Libyan solution process and achieve national consensus without imposition, external interference, or undermining the role of Libya’s national institutions, in accordance with the established references. Minister Abdelatty also emphasized the importance of respecting Libya’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, shielding it from foreign interference, and the need for concerted international efforts to restore security and stability across the country.
Moreover, the two Ministers discussed the ongoing efforts to resolve the Sudanese crisis and the intensive endeavors to halt the ongoing conflict, in light of their shared commitment to preserving Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity, rejecting external interference, and safeguarding its national institutions and the interests of its brotherly people.
Regarding regional issues, the two Ministers condemned Israel’s attacks on Syrian territory, citing violations of the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic. These attacks most recently included the targeting of the Presidential Tishreen Palace and the General Staff headquarters in Damascus. Both sides emphasized the necessity of Israel’s withdrawal from all Syrian territories occupied since 1967, including the Golan Heights, and underscored the importance of respecting Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
The meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Egypt and Saudi Arabia reflected alignment in the visions of the two brotherly countries and a mutual willingness to exert further efforts to develop bilateral relations and to work jointly toward political and diplomatic solutions to the crises sweeping the region.
