Cairo: Egypt expressed its condolences to Iraq following the devastating fire in Al Kut city, eastern Iraq, which resulted in significant loss of life. In a statement issued on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Egyptian Expatriates emphasized Egypt's solidarity with Iraq during this difficult time.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the fire broke out in a five-story hypermarket, leading to the death of 61 individuals. The Egyptian government and its citizens extend their sympathy to the Iraqi government, the people, and particularly the families who lost their loved ones.
The statement from Egypt also included wishes for a swift recovery for those injured in the incident. The tragic event has prompted expressions of support and the assurance of solidarity from Egypt to its neighboring country.
