Luanda: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty inaugurated the Egypt-Angola Business Forum in Luanda, Angola, on Thursday, December 11, 2025, during the first session of the joint committee between the two nations.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the event was also attended by Sherif el Gebaly, Chairman of the African Cooperation Committee at the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), along with representatives from major Egyptian companies in energy, construction, and IT. Abdelatty highlighted that the forum's strong participation reflects the growing momentum in relations and the shared intention of both governments to expand economic ties.
He emphasized the need for increasing trade, encouraging new investments, and leveraging potentials available in both markets. Abdelatty noted that Egyptian companies possess the capability and experience to operate in Angola, citing their successful track record in large infrastructure projects throughout Africa.
The minister identified areas with strong cooperation potential, including the Lobito Corridor and its associated logistics network. He also stressed the importance of collaboration in agriculture, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals, with ongoing discussions for a health cooperation memorandum that would provide Angolan citizens access to Egyptian medications and support Angola's health sector.
Additionally, the Foreign Minister highlighted the necessity for more efficient financial procedures, stronger banking connections, and advancements in preventing double taxation.
