PM Attends IAP General Assembly and IRC EXPO 2025 in New Administrative Capital

New administrative capital: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, representing President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, took part in the General Assembly of the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) and the International Research Commercialization Expo (IRC EXPO 2025) on Thursday, December 11, 2025. The event is hosted in the New Administrative Capital and operates under the auspices of the president.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the assembly is attended by notable figures including Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, and Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel el Wazir. Also in attendance are ministers, senior officials from the Nasser Higher Military Academy, the Military Technical College, military research centers, and heads of Egyptian and international research academies and universities. Distinguished professors, the IAP co-chair, ambassadors, and representatives from various foreign countries are also part of this significant gathering.

Upon his arrival at the event venue, Prime Minister Madbouli was greeted by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour. The hosting of this global event by Egypt, represented by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), underscores the state's dedication to bolstering international cooperation in science, research, and innovation. It highlights Egypt's expanding role in fostering global scientific partnerships and enhancing research capabilities.

This event marks the first occasion for Egypt and the Arab world to host the IAP General Assembly, a noteworthy milestone that unites leading academics, experts, and policymakers from over 140 scientific academies worldwide. This year's assembly focuses on the pressing issues that science and society currently face.

During the event, Prime Minister Madbouli listened to remarks from several participants. ASRT acting President Gina el Feki emphasized the significance of hosting the assembly in Egypt, describing it as a remarkable event that highlights Egypt's global scientific stature and its successful bid to host amidst strong international competition.

A documentary showcasing state support for the scientific research ecosystem was presented during the event. On the sidelines of the IAP General Assembly, Egypt, via the ASRT, hosted the 3rd IAP Triennial Conference under the theme "Connecting Science with Policy and Society in the Age of Transformation." This triennial conference gathers broad international participation from national academies and global scientific institutions, concluding with discussions on developing scientific systems and enhancing partnerships among government, academia, industry, and philanthropic institutions.

This year's conference attracted 300 experts and leaders of scientific institutions, 50 international speakers, and 120 international organizations from around 80 countries, establishing it as one of the largest multilateral scientific events globally.
