Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held talks on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, with representatives of Egyptian companies operating in Africa to discuss ways to strengthen Egypt's economic presence across the continent.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty emphasized the critical role of the private sector in expanding economic ties with African countries, boosting trade exchange, and attracting investments. He acknowledged the increasing presence of Egyptian companies in African markets and their involvement in development projects.
The minister highlighted Egypt's commitment to supporting companies operating in Africa by coordinating with African governments and institutions to facilitate business activities and access to markets.
The meeting also covered preparations for a business forum scheduled next month in El Alamein, coinciding with the African Union mid-year coordination summit. Discussions included investment opportunities and prospects for broader cooperation across the continent.
