FAO Awards Agricola Medal to President El Sisi for Efforts in Food Security

New capital: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli welcomed Director-General of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Qu Dongyu at the cabinet headquarters in the New Capital. The meeting was held to present the FAO's "Agricola Medal," the organization's highest award, to the premier on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the reception ceremony saw the presence of several key officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriate Badr Abdelatty, and Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouq. During the event, Madbouli conveyed President Sisi's gratitude for the award and reaffirmed Egypt's dedication to enhancing cooperation with the FAO.

Qu Dongyu expressed his eagerness to foster stronger collaboration with Egypt in the future. He explained that the medal was awarded to President Sisi in recognition of his contributions to food security and efforts in combating hunger. Additionally, Sisi's humanitarian assistance to neighboring countries experiencing severe crises was acknowledged.

Qu emphasized that the Agricola Medal represents the FAO's highest honor bestowed upon leaders, monarchs, and heads of state who significantly support the organization's objectives.
