Abu dhabi: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a meeting with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. The discussions were part of Abdelatty's current visit to the UAE capital.According to State Information Service Egypt, the two ministers underscored the robust ties between Egypt and the UAE, highlighting the close relationship between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and UAE's Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed. Their talks focused on enhancing bilateral relations, especially in economic, commercial, and investment sectors.Abdelatty acknowledged the Emirati investments in Egypt, specifically in the Ras Al-Hikma area and the Red Sea development projects, which he noted as significant advancements in the economic partnership between the two nations. He expressed a desire to further these relations in energy, logistics, industry, and digitalization, capitalizing on Egypt's favorable investment climate.Both mini sters expressed satisfaction with the ongoing meetings of the joint economic committee, viewing it as a crucial platform for boosting economic cooperation. Abdelatty detailed Egypt's ongoing economic reforms aimed at strengthening the private sector and improving the investment environment, which includes providing tax and customs facilities under the National Investment Strategy 2024-2030.On regional matters, the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories was a key topic, with both ministers agreeing on the urgency to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza caused by Israeli actions. Abdelatty condemned the Israeli aggression, emphasizing the blockade's violation of international laws and its detrimental impact on peace efforts.The ministers also denounced the Israeli aggression against Qatar's capital, Doha, expressing solidarity with Qatar and condemning the attack as a serious escalation and a threat to Arab national security.Discussions also covered the Sudan crisis, with Abdelatty highlighting the need for a ceasefire and the delivery of aid to the Sudanese population.The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of both countries' commitment to ongoing coordination and consultation to address shared challenges, thereby contributing to Arab national security and regional stability.
