Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone call on Saturday, July 11, 2026, with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss bilateral relations and the latest regional developments.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministers praised the continued momentum in Egypt-UAE ties across various fields, highlighting the strategic partnership between the two countries under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. They reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation in the interests of both nations.
The talks also focused on regional issues, particularly developments related to the memorandum of understanding signed between the United States and Iran. Abdelatty underlined the importance of building on the agreement to help ease regional tensions and enhance security and stability, while underscoring the need to address the security concerns of Gulf states as an integral part of Arab national security.
Both ministers also exchanged views on maritime security and the situations in Gaza and Lebanon, reaffirming the importance of continued coordination and consultation to support peace and stability across the region.
