Egypt’s Hosting of EIAS Reflects Confidence in Its Global Event Capabilities

Alamein: Civil Aviation Minister Sameh el-Hefny said on Saturday, July 11, 2026, that Egypt's hosting of the second El Alamein International Airshow (EIAS 2026) reflects growing international confidence in the country's ability to organize major global events, backed by modern infrastructure and strong organizational expertise. The remarks came during an inspection tour of Alamein International Airport, where el-Hefny reviewed operational readiness and final preparations for the event, scheduled for Sept. 8-10.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Minister said the airport is a key hub in Egypt's aviation network and remains a priority in the ministry's development strategy to enhance operational efficiency, support tourism and travel, and serve development projects in New Alamein City and the northwestern coast.

El-Hefny inspected departure and arrival halls, baggage handling systems, security screening equipment and other operational facilities to ensure they are ready to receive international delegations. He also reviewed progress on airport upgrades, stressing the need to complete all works on schedule and in line with the highest technical and operational standards.

The show is expected to attract leading international companies and institutions in the aviation, space and defense sectors, underscoring Egypt's ambitions to position itself as a regional hub for global industry events.
