Paris: As part of efforts to enhance the presence of Egyptian products in the French market, the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS) in Paris has supported the participation of Egyptian companies at the Maison and Objet exhibition. Minister Plenipotentiary for Trade in the ECS in Paris, Bassem Farouk Badr, visited the exhibition, which took place in Paris from January 15 to 19, 2026.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Maison and Objet is a significant international trade fair in Europe, focusing on d©cor, furniture, lighting, home accessories, and furnishings. The exhibition is known for its high level of international participation and provides substantial opportunities for foreign companies aiming to engage in the French market's supply and distribution chains.
This year's exhibition saw the involvement of several Egyptian companies. The ECS organized a visit for representatives from the Chamber of Handicraft Industries and UN Women to discuss strategies for enhancing the presence of Egyptian companies in future editions, supporting Egyptian handicraft industries, and improving their access to international markets.
The ECS in Paris is preparing for Egypt's planned participation with a national pavilion at the exhibition's September 2026 edition. The pavilion will span approximately 100 square meters and is expected to feature over 10 Egyptian companies, as part of a comprehensive strategy to promote Egyptian value-added products in the French market.
Plenipotentiary Minister Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sherif, First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Trade and Head of the ECS, highlighted the positive development in economic and trade relations between Egypt and France. He reported that Egyptian exports to France reached approximately pound 1.154 billion by the end of 2024, marking a growth rate of 3.4% from 2023. French investments in Egypt totaled about USD 9.94 billion as of February 2025, underscoring French investors' confidence in Egypt's investment climate and market opportunities.
