Arab Nations Condemn Israeli Actions in Jerusalem and Call for International Intervention

Cairo: A joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Trkiye, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar condemned ongoing violations in Jerusalem's holy sites by Israeli authorities. The statement specifically criticized incursions by Israeli settlers and ministers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif, carried out under the protection of Israeli police, as well as the raising of the Israeli flag within its courtyards.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministers emphasized that these actions constitute a violation of international law and a provocation to Muslims globally. They rejected any attempts to alter the historical and legal status of Jerusalem and reaffirmed the exclusive jurisdiction of the Jerusalem Endowments and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department, affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, over the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif.

The statement also condemned Israel's decision to approve over 30 new settlements and the increasing settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The ministers declared that these actions violate international law and United Nations Security Council resolutions, and they called for accountability for attacks on Palestinian schools and children. They reiterated that Israel has no sovereignty over the Occupied Palestinian Territory and rejected any annexation attempts.

The ministers stressed that these developments threaten the viability of a Palestinian state and the two-state solution, increasing tensions and undermining peace efforts. They urged Israel to take responsibility for these actions and hold perpetrators accountable.

Additionally, the ministers called on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral obligations by compelling Israel to cease its actions in the occupied West Bank. They also urged intensified efforts to achieve a political solution based on the two-state framework, supporting the Palestinian right to self-determination and statehood with East Jerusalem as its capital.
