Dakar: Ambassador Seif Qandil, Director of the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding in Africa, participated on behalf of Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty, in the 10th edition of the Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa. The forum focused on the theme "Africa facing the challenges of stability, integration, and sovereignty: what sustainable solutions?" and was organized under the patronage of the Senegalese president.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the forum witnessed participation from several government officials, representatives from international and regional organizations, and experts and delegates from various African regional organizations and coalitions. The event concentrated on addressing escalating armed conflicts, challenges related to climate change, risks of extremism leading to terrorism, challenges of regional integration, and Africa's strategy to achieve digital and technological sovereignty.

The discussions at the forum emphasized the necessity of adopting a comprehensive and integrated vision that considers the interconnectedness of natural resources, technology use, and the role of education in promoting peace and security in Africa. Ambassador Qandil also conducted several meetings on the sidelines of the forum with the secretary-general of the Senegalese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the director of the minister's office. These discussions aimed to explore ways of cooperation and coordination between the Dakar Forum on Peace and Security and the upcoming 6th edition of the Aswan Forum for Sustainable Peace and Development, scheduled to be held in Aswan in October.
