Arab, Muslim FMs Condemn Israeli Proposal to Evacuate Gaza Residents

Cairo: Foreign ministers from Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar expressed deep concern on Friday over recent Israeli statements proposing the opening of the Rafah crossing in one direction solely to allow residents of the Gaza Strip to move into Egypt.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministers voiced their opposition to any unilateral actions that may alter the demographics of the region. They emphasized the importance of maintaining the current status of the Gaza Strip and called for international efforts to address the ongoing situation through diplomatic channels.

The proposal to open the Rafah crossing in one direction has raised alarms among these nations, as they fear it may lead to significant demographic shifts and exacerbate tensions in the region.
