Youth Minister: Investing in Human Capital a Top Priority

Cairo: Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhy affirmed on Thursday, January 22, 2026, that investing in human capital represents a top priority, and that the ministry continues to support initiatives that focus on building the well-rounded character of youth and strengthening the values of belonging, responsibility, and national service, in a manner that achieves the goals of sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030 under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this statement was made during the minister's attendance at the signing of a contract to train and qualify 3,000 young people in community leadership skills with the 'Al-Mentor' platform. The event was also attended by Dr. Mohamed Zeyada, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the 'Protectors of the Earth' Foundation.

This initiative is part of the Ministry of Youth and Sports' ongoing efforts to support serious institutions and empower them to play their role in human development. It aims to enhance investment in youth as the main pillar of sustainable development, in preparation for launching the Youth Union of Protectors of the Earth.

The Minister explained that this move aligns with the ministry's policy of supporting partnerships with active institutions, including the youth of the 'Protectors of the Earth' Foundation. The foundation implements numerous programs and activities aimed at qualifying young people and developing their capacities.

The initiative includes 3,000 training scholarships designed to prepare youth cadres capable of community leadership, assuming responsibility, and contributing positively to national development pathways.

The ministry emphasizes supporting unions and institutions that adhere to clear and disciplined standards, contributing effectively to building youth capacities. The Youth Union of Protectors of the Earth exemplifies a commitment to sound criteria for selecting youth and implementing high-quality activities aimed at building awareness, refining skills, and developing leadership capabilities.

The training scholarships offer specialized educational tracks through the (Al-Mentor) platform, alongside various awareness-raising and developmental activities. These are implemented within an integrated system of follow-up and evaluation to ensure maximum benefit for participating youth and to enhance their readiness for positive engagement in society.
