Berlin:Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir engaged in discussions with Hungarian counterpart David Vit©zy and senior executives of major international companies to enhance cooperation in various transport sectors. These meetings took place during the InnoTrans trade fair.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Egyptian and Hungarian ministers focused on bilateral cooperation in the railway sector, discussing the exchange of expertise and leveraging each country's capabilities to develop public transport and green transport systems. Deputy Minister Wagdy Radwan participated in the discussions.

Wazir emphasized the strong relationship between Egypt and Hungary, highlighting Egypt's commitment to strengthening cooperation across transport sectors, particularly in railways. Vit©zy praised the ties between the two nations and recognized the developments in Egypt's transport sector.

After the meeting, Wazir toured InnoTrans, visiting pavilions of companies involved in projects with the Egyptian Ministry of Transport. He reviewed technological solutions and ongoing projects, including Hitachi's work on the Alexandria Metro project.

Wazir also met with Alstom's Martin Sion, discussing projects such as the East and West Nile monorail lines and the sixth metro line project. The East Nile Monorail is operational, while work continues on the West Nile line.

The minister visited Systra's booth to explore engineering consultancy services and discussed local manufacturing with Egyptian company Egypt Trust, awarding them an IRIS certificate. He stressed the importance of localizing transport industries to meet market needs and expand exports.

Wazir's efforts aim to reduce reliance on imports, support domestic industry, and position Egypt as a regional hub for manufacturing and exporting transport equipment.
