Cairo: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy and Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil engaged in discussions on the potential for cooperation between their respective ministries to advance sports tourism and utilize Egypt's sports and youth facilities.According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministers explored the potential of leveraging Egypt's sports infrastructure and tourism sites to attract international sporting events, training camps, and championships. These efforts align with the country's sustainable development strategy.The ministers agreed to form a joint working group to coordinate the implementation of these initiatives. They considered launching Sharm El-Sheikh as a pilot project to integrate sports and tourism services, with plans to expand this model to other tourist destinations.The discussions also emphasized creating a comprehensive sports tourism experience that combines sports with visits to archaeological sites and other tourist attractions, along with recr eational activities. This approach aims to position Egypt as a competitive player in the global sports tourism market.
