Cairo: Egypt on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, strongly condemned the targeting of two UAE oil tankers while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, describing the incident as a serious violation of international law and a direct threat to maritime security and the free flow of trade through one of the world's most strategic waterways.
According to State Information Service Egypt, in a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates reaffirmed Egypt's categorical rejection of all attacks targeting civilian vessels or infrastructure, as well as any actions that endanger maritime navigation and global energy supplies.
The ministry underlined the need to uphold international law and refrain from actions that could further escalate tensions and widen the scope of conflict in the region. Egypt also expressed its full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, affirming its support for the Gulf nation in confronting any threats to its security and national interests.
